You can only imagine how hard it is to stand out as a freshman on a team like Millville, which has multiple Division 1 caliber players on its roster, but that’s how well Jayden Jones played this season.
Listed at 6’2, 215 pounds, Jayden played a pivotal role as the defensive end on a 3-man front that won the State championship for the Millville Thunderbolts during the 2022-2023 season. His full complement of skills were on display when he had a sack, a tackle for loss, and four solo tackles in the final game of the regular season vs North Highland.
Jayden is quick off the ball and has a surprising level of technique for such a young player, often splitting offensive linemen and being a disruptive force in the backfield. He plays disciplined against the run, which is a tough assignment in a two-gap system, forcing plays into the help from a talented linebacker core.
Jayden’s stellar play has already earned him Power 5 offers from West Virginia, Pitt, Temple, Penn State, and Michigan.
