Scouting Report: DT Joel Amegatcher

Joel Amegatcher | DT | 2025

5’10” | 260 | Wing: 73″ | Hand:

HS: Camden Catholic | NJ

Grade: DI FCS

Joel is a high motored defensive tackle that can play the Nose or 3 technique. Due to his athleticism, he takes snaps on the edge, but he projects more as an interior D-Linemen. He has great anticipation and is usually the first one out of his stance. Offensive Linemen rarely get their hands on Joel first as he routinely beats them to hand position. Joel has a great feel for screens and is able to follow blockers to the ball instead of being sucked in to the QB. That same instinct helps him with traps.

As impressive as Joel’s Sophomore tape is, he’s built on it and improved this off-season. He has been working on his technique to get the most out of his natural athleticism and burst. After watching tape from his camp reps, he has developed his chop and stab. Those new techniques will empower him to an even stronger Junior season.
