Scouting Report: IOL William Derek McIntosh

William Derek McIntosh | IOL | 2024

6’1″ | 280 | Wing: —| Hand:

HS: Grand Blanc | MI

Grade: DII / DIII

Derek McIntosh is all hustle. Everything he does is full speed. At times it looks like he is in a different gear than other Linemen. He doesn’t end plays early, nor does he take plays off. There was a play where he ran 70 yards trying to chase down a DB on an interception. Just a testament to Derek’s mindset. He also brings back an era where defenders need to keep their head on  swivel when standing near a pile. If the whistle hasn’t blown, Derek is hitting anyone in his path. The speed that McIntosh possesses makes his pulls on traps and TAG blocks such an asset to his game. His athleticism also allows him to rarely get beat in pass protection.

Derek currently has a couple offers and a bunch of interest. He has been working hard on his game and has attended 9 camps this off-season! Derek’s hustle on the field matches his work ethic off of it. I am excited to follow Derek’s Senior season to see how his off-season grind helped develop his game.
